Short answerIndian citizens need a visa to visit South Korea. Your visa sets how long you can stay.

How long you can stay
Your visa sets how long you can stay.
What you need
  • Valid passport
  • Completed Korea visa application form
  • Passport photo
  • Supporting documents (invitation letter, proof of funds, itinerary, employment/business proof as applicable)
  • Visa fee
  • Application submitted via a Korean Visa Application Centre (VFS Global, New Delhi or Kolkata) or the Consulate-General with jurisdiction (Mumbai/Chennai)
Good to know
India is a visa-required nationality for South Korea; ordinary Indian passport holders are not eligible for K-ETA (the electronic travel authorization South Korea grants to many other nationalities) - only Indian diplomatic/official passport holders get a 90-day visa exemption. This was confirmed via the official Embassy of the Republic of Korea in India's Visa page, which describes mandatory advance visa applications processed through VFS Global centres. Direct verification of the live K-ETA eligible-country list on k-eta.go.kr was not possible during this check because that site requires proprietary Korean security software/JavaScript (TouchEn NX) that could not be rendered by an automated fetch.
