Short answerMalaysian citizens need an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) before travelling to South Korea. Up to 90 days per visit.

How long you can stay
Up to 90 days per visit.
What you need
  • Valid passport
  • Approved K-ETA obtained online before departure (fee 10,000 KRW / approx. USD 7-8, valid 3 years or until passport expiry, multiple entry)
  • e-Arrival Card (submit online up to 72 hours before arrival, or on arrival)
  • Proof of onward/return ticket
Good to know
Malaysian citizens are visa-exempt for up to 90 days (listed on K-ETA's own page as '03 Months'; this contradicts some third-party blogs claiming a shorter 30-day window - the 90-day figure is taken directly from K-ETA's own eligibility page and is treated as authoritative here). Malaysia is NOT on the list of nationalities currently exempted from the K-ETA requirement, so Malaysian travelers must complete K-ETA online before departure.
