Frequently asked questions

The questions we get most. If yours isn't here, the fastest answer is usually on the specific rule page — or check /sources for exactly what we've verified and when.

Is this legal advice?
No. Everything here is informational and reflects our reading of official sources at the date shown — it isn't legal advice and isn't an official determination of your right to stay or enter. Border authorities decide, not us. For anything consequential, verify with the official source we cite, or a qualified adviser.
How do you actually verify your data?
Every fact we publish is checked directly against a primary official source — a regulation, an official government page, a statute — before it goes live, and we record the date it was checked and who checked it. If we can't reach or confirm something against a primary source, we don't publish it; it stays flagged internally as unverified instead. See /methodology for the full policy and /sources for the complete list of what backs every claim on the site.
Why isn't my destination or nationality covered yet?
We'd rather show you an honest "not yet verified" than a guess. Coverage grows destination by destination, each one fully researched against that country's own immigration and customs authorities — we don't publish a country until we can cite it properly. The trip-check picker shows what's live now and what's queued next.
What's the difference between Trip Check and the Schengen Calculator?
Trip Check (/trip-check) answers the broad question — can you enter a given destination, for how long, with what documents, and what you can bring — across all our verified destinations. The Schengen Calculator (/calculator) is the deeper tool specifically for the EU's rolling 90/180-day rule: multiple trips, residence-permit exclusions, dual citizenship, and a day-by-day timeline. If your trip is only about Schengen days, use the calculator directly.
Do you store my trip details?
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser — your dates never reach our servers, and shareable links encode your trip in the URL itself rather than in a database. Trip Check works the same way: nothing you enter is stored server-side.
How do you keep this up to date when rules change?
We watch our official sources on a weekly automated cycle for content changes, and re-verify anything that moved. Every change to our data — what changed, when, and against which source — is logged publicly at /changelog, so you can see our update history rather than just take our word for it.
Is Odyssway free?
Yes. The calculator and Trip Check are both free with no account required, and that's not changing — free access to accurate compliance information is the point of the site.
Are you affiliated with the EU, a government, or an airline?
No. We're an independent, unaffiliated site. We're not the European Union, any national government, or any airline or visa-processing company, and nothing here should be read as an official channel.
I think something is wrong or out of date. How do I report it?
Point us at the official source that contradicts what we have — that's the fastest fix, since every value we publish traces to a specific citation you can check against. See /sources for what's currently backing each claim.
