Short answerIndian citizens need a visa to visit the United States. Your visa sets how long you can stay.

How long you can stay
Your visa sets how long you can stay.
What you need
  • Valid passport
  • DS-160 online nonimmigrant visa application
  • Visa interview appointment at a US Embassy/Consulate
  • Visa (MRV) fee payment
  • Supporting documents demonstrating purpose of trip and ties to India
Good to know
India is not one of the 42 countries in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program, per CBP. Indian citizens must obtain a B1 (business) or B2 (tourism) nonimmigrant visa in advance through a US Embassy/Consulate; the visa's validity period is separate from the length of stay, which a CBP officer sets at the port of entry – could not confirm the exact typical admission period against a primary source this session (travel.state.gov and ustraveldocs.com both blocked automated fetches).
