Short answerIndian citizens need a visa to visit the Dominican Republic. Your visa sets how long you can stay.

How long you can stay
Your visa sets how long you can stay.
What you need
  • Dominican tourist visa (TS) from a Dominican embassy/consulate — or, instead, a valid multiple-entry visa or permanent residence of the US, Schengen Area, Canada or UK (Decreto 691-07) plus a Tourist Card
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months (DGM's usual requirement; Canada's advice: 6 months after arrival)
  • E-Ticket electronic entry/exit form (mandatory)
Good to know
The Dominican Foreign Ministry (MIREX) visa-requirements tool, queried for India / ordinary passport / tourist visa (TS), answers '¿Requiere visa? SI', with consular jurisdiction the Consular Section of the Dominican Embassy in New Delhi. Exception: Decreto 691-07 of 18 Dec 2007, quoted at the top of the same MIREX tool, lets foreigners holding permanent residence or a valid multiple-entry visa of the United States, the European Union (Schengen), Canada or Great Britain enter for tourism with only a valid passport and a Tourist Card — in that case the 30-day tourist rules below apply. Stay length on a Dominican visa is set by the visa and the immigration officer, so no automatic day count is given here. Passport: DGM describes a minimum passport validity of six (6) months as the usual requirement; the 2025–2026 relaxation (passport valid only for the stay) covers only Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, the USA, the UK ('Inglaterra') and EU citizens — plus other nationals who hold documents allowing them to enter those countries. Canada's advice phrases the standard rule as 6 months after the date of arrival. Arrival form: DGM states the E-Ticket (eticket.migracion.gob.do) is mandatory for every passenger on entry and exit. Tourist-stay extension and overstay fees (DGM): beyond 30 days, an extension up to 120 days is possible; stay fee RD$3,500 for 30–90 days, RD$5,600 for 90–120 days. MIREX's own disclaimer says the tool is a basic guide only.
