Good to know
Spain's foreign ministry (updated 21 Apr 2026) states Spanish citizens can enter Malaysia without a visa for up to three months, at the Malaysian authorities' discretion, under the 1995 Spain–Malaysia visa-abolition agreement. Malaysia's Immigration Department visa-by-country page (checked 2 Oct 2026) does not list Spain among visa-required countries; no Malaysian page stating the 3-month figure for Spain specifically was found. The length of stay is granted by the immigration officer at entry. East Malaysia controls its own entry: Sabah and Sarawak issue a separate entry permit (the French MFA says Sarawak grants 30 days on arrival; the German MFA says the separate permit is usually valid 90 days) — check before travelling there. Cross-checked against the Spanish foreign ministry's travel advice (checked 2 Oct 2026).
