What you need
  • Valid passport
  • Argentine tourist visa from a consulate — OR a valid US visa of similar category / valid US Green Card (visa-free up to 30 days)
Good to know
Chinese ordinary-passport holders need a tourist visa from an Argentine consulate (DNM Régimen de Visas: 'REQUIERE VISA'). Exception — Resolución 316/2025 (Vicejefatura de Gabinete del Interior, Boletín Oficial 21/07/2025), art. 1: entry without a consular visa or AVE is allowed with a valid US visa of a similar category, for tourism (art. 24 a) Law 25.871) or business, 'con un plazo de permanencia máximo autorizado de hasta TREINTA (30) días'; art. 2: no change of immigration category; stay may be extended once for a similar period after DNM evaluation. The DNM table and the Argentine Consulate in Sydney say that since 15 January 2026 a valid US Green Card also qualifies (Chinese nationals: up to 30 days). Otherwise: consular tourist visa (Cancillería: stay up to 90 days, fee USD 150, passport valid ≥6 months, interview; requirements differ for applications filed in China under a bilateral agreement). Decreto 366/2025 health-insurance declaration not yet enforceable (art. 123 bis). Resolution text and the DNM visa table re-read 2026-10-19.
