Philippines entry requirements for Chinese citizens

Short answerChinese citizens need a visa to visit the Philippines. Your visa sets how long you can stay.
- How long you can stay
- Your visa sets how long you can stay.
- What you need
- Valid passport (at least 6 months validity)
- Philippine Temporary Visitor Visa (9a) obtained from a Philippine Embassy/Consulate in advance
- Visa application form and passport photo
- Proof of sufficient funds and return/onward ticket
- For organized group tours only: Visa Upon Arrival (VUA) processed under Bureau of Immigration memoranda specific to People's Republic of China (PROC) tour groups, arranged through an accredited tour operator
- Good to know
- The Philippine Bureau of Immigration's visa-waiver page does not list China among visa-exempt nationalities (it separately addresses only Macau-Portuguese, Hong Kong-British, and Hong Kong SAR passport holders), confirming ordinary Chinese passport holders are visa-required. However, the BI's Visa-Upon-Arrival (SEVUA) page explicitly references 'VA RADJR Memorandum 2012-002 - VA to Foreign Tour for Indian or People's Republic of China (PROC) Groups,' i.e., organized Chinese tour groups routed through accredited agencies can get a visa processed on arrival rather than at an embassy beforehand. Individual/independent Chinese tourists still need a standard visa obtained in advance.
