Short answerChinese citizens need a visa to visit Peru. Your visa sets how long you can stay.

How long you can stay
Your visa sets how long you can stay.
What you need
  • Peruvian tourist visa from a Peruvian consulate, OR proof of exemption: a US, Canadian, UK, Australian or Schengen visa valid for at least 6 months, or permanent residence in one of those countries
  • Ordinary passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
Good to know
Chinese ordinary passport holders need a Peruvian tourist visa from a Peruvian consulate, UNLESS they qualify for the conditional exemption (D.S. N° 069-2016-RE; Foreign Ministry table, PDF dated 16 Jul 2026, marked 'Si/No'). Exemption conditions (table notes): they may enter Peru without a temporary tourist visa if they hold (a) a visa with at least six (6) months' validity from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia or a Schengen Area state, or (b) permanent residence in one of those countries. Exempt travellers get '180**': 180 calendar days, not extendable, within 365 days counted from the first entry. Conflict: the Embassy of Peru in Singapore FAQ (22 Mar 2026) describes the limit as 180 days 'during a period of six months for Chinese passport holders, and one year for Indian passport holders'; the Foreign Ministry's own table (controlling) gives 180 days within 365 days for both. Without a qualifying visa/residence, apply at a Peruvian consulate (the Singapore embassy lists: application forms, photos, return ticket, hotel booking, bank statements, and an interview; requirements and fees vary by consulate). The visa's terms then set the stay.

The rule: Ordinary passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
