What you need
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival
  • Either a 30-day tourist visa bought on arrival in Egypt (paid in cash, US dollars), or an electronic visa obtained before travel at visa2egypt.gov.eg (printed)
  • Travel itinerary and accommodation details
Good to know
Government of Canada travel advice (travel.gc.ca, checked 2026-10-05): Canadian passport holders can obtain an electronic visa prior to travel or a 30-day tourist visa on arrival, paid in cash in US dollars; the Egypt e-Visa Portal lists Canada as e-Visa eligible. Entering via the Taba land crossing and staying within the Sinai Peninsula, a 14-day visa-free entry stamp is available instead. No single day count is shown, since the e-Visa's permitted stay isn't published by Egypt.
