Short answerGerman citizens can get a visa on arrival in Indonesia. Up to 30 days per visit.

How long you can stay
Up to 30 days per visit.
What you need
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from date of arrival
  • Return or onward ticket
  • VOA fee (IDR 500,000), paid on arrival or bought in advance online as an e-VOA
  • All Indonesia arrival declaration (allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id), which can be filled in from 3 days before arrival — mandatory for every arriving international passenger since 1 October 2025
Good to know
German citizens (Jerman) are on Indonesia's official Visa on Arrival subject list and are not on the visa-free (Bebas Visa Kunjungan) list, including after Permenimipas No. 10/2026 (9 July 2026), which added only Türkiye, Brazil, Peru, Kazakhstan, Macao and Belarus. The B1 VOA is single-entry for tourism, family visits, meetings, conventions, exhibitions or transit: initial stay up to 30 days from arrival, extendable once for a total of 60 days (online for e-VOA holders, otherwise at an immigration office); per imigrasi.go.id it can also be converted to another stay permit.
