Can you bring e-cigarettes or vapes to Taiwan?
Short answer
Prohibited
E-cigarettes
prohibited"Passengers are NOT allowed to carry e-cigarettes and e-liquids into Taiwan." Violators "may be fined between NT$50,000 and NT$5 million according to Paragraph 1 of Article 15 and Paragraph 2 of Article 26 of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act."
Taiwan's amended Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act (in force since 22 March 2023) fully bans e-cigarettes — manufacture, import, sale and use — and separately regulates heated-tobacco products like IQOS, which are also barred for travelers to bring in. If merely transiting Taiwan for another destination, devices can be declared and deposited at the bonded luggage counter for collection on departure, rather than being confiscated outright.
