Can you bring fresh fruit or produce to Malaysia?
Short answer
Depends on specifics
Fresh produce
depends on specificsEdible vegetables and roots, fruit and nuts, coffee/tea/spices and cereals are food products whose import is subject to the approval of the Ministry of Health's Food Safety and Quality Division (Customs (Prohibition of Imports) Order 2023, Third Schedule item 35). Importing plants, agricultural produce or soil without a valid MAQIS import permit is an offence under the MAQIS Act 2011.
No personal-luggage exemption or quantity allowance appears in the Order or on the MAQIS FAQ. Live plants, seeds and cut flowers were not separately confirmed on a primary page in this pass.
