Overstaying in Poland: fine, entry ban and enforcement

This is what Poland's own national law adds on top of the EU-wide entry-ban mechanism — every Schengen country runs that same baseline process, explained on the general overstay-penalties page, but the fine amount and exact enforcement style are set by each country individually.

Fine

Reported as roughly PLN 500–5,000 for illegal stay, though sources on the exact statutory scale are inconsistent — treat as approximate

Entry ban

6 months to 3 years

How it's enforced in practice

The Border Guard commander issues a border-crossing protocol plus an order to leave Polish territory, with a voluntary-return deadline of 8–30 days from the decision. The entry ban covers Poland and the wider Schengen Area. Ban-duration figure is confirmed directly from Poland's official Border Guard site; the fine figure is not.

This is informational only, not legal advice — consult a qualified adviser if you're facing an actual return decision or entry ban.
