Overstaying in Czech Republic: fine, entry ban and enforcement

This is what Czech Republic's own national law adds on top of the EU-wide entry-ban mechanism — every Schengen country runs that same baseline process, explained on the general overstay-penalties page, but the fine amount and exact enforcement style are set by each country individually.

Fine

Up to CZK 10,000, under § 157(1)(a)-(e) of Act No. 326/1999 Sb., tied to the illegal-stay obligation in § 103(n)

Entry ban

5 years for an ordinary expulsion case under § 119(1); 10 years if the person is deemed a security threat; extendable by a further 5 years for non-compliance

How it's enforced in practice

Figures are corroborated across two independent search-snippet queries with consistent results, not a direct full-text read — every direct-fetch attempt on the Czech Republic's own portals (e-sbirka.gov.cz, mzv.gov.cz, and a Refworld mirror) failed on JS-rendering, binary-PDF, or 403 issues.

This is informational only, not legal advice — consult a qualified adviser if you're facing an actual return decision or entry ban.
