Overstaying in Denmark: fine, entry ban and enforcement

This is what Denmark's own national law adds on top of the EU-wide entry-ban mechanism — every Schengen country runs that same baseline process, explained on the general overstay-penalties page, but the fine amount and exact enforcement style are set by each country individually.

Fine

DKK 1,500 flat fine

Entry ban

Typically 2 years, registered Schengen-wide via SIS

How it's enforced in practice

Administrative expulsion (udvisning) with an entry ban is imposed under the Aliens Act (Udlændingeloven) §§ 25b and 32; even a 1–5 day overstay can trigger expulsion. Figures are quoted from a Danish immigration-law firm citing these sections — a direct fetch of Denmark's official legal portal (retsinformation.dk) wasn't attempted this pass.

This is informational only, not legal advice — consult a qualified adviser if you're facing an actual return decision or entry ban.
