Short answerItalian citizens can visit Turkey without a visa. Up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

How long you can stay
Up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
What you need
  • Passport, or electronic ID card (CIE) valid for travel abroad, with at least 5 months' remaining validity (CIE accepted when arriving by air or sea, or from the Greek or Bulgarian border; a passport is required at land borders with Georgia, Azerbaijan/Nakhchivan, Iran, Iraq and Syria)
Good to know
Viaggiare Sicuri (Turchia, updated 15/7/2026): Italian citizens need no visa for tourist stays under 90 days; a visa is required for other purposes or to stay more than 90 days in 180 days. Türkiye's MFA page says only 'up to 90 days' for Italy, so the 180-day window comes from Italy's own foreign ministry.

Is your passport valid long enough?

The rule: Passport, or electronic ID card (CIE) valid for travel abroad, with at least 5 months' remaining validity (CIE accepted when arriving by air or sea, or from the Greek or Bulgarian border; a passport is required at land borders with Georgia, Azerbaijan/Nakhchivan, Iran, Iraq and Syria)
