allowed, within limitsEffective 9 November 2024, only travellers on a tourist visa may import limited tobacco for personal use, duty-exempt: "Up to 200 cigarettes, or 25 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco." Quantities above that "will be retained by Customs for a maximum of 30 days" and can be collected at the Velana International Airport departure customs counter before leaving.
Per the Maldives Customs Service circular addressed to all passengers on a tourist visa.
