Can you bring tobacco or cigarettes to Indonesia?

Short answer
Allowed, within limits

  • Tobacco

    allowed, within limits

Duty-free tobacco allowance per adult passenger arriving in Indonesia: 200 cigarettes, or 25 cigars, or 100 grams of loose/sliced tobacco or other processed tobacco. If a passenger carries a mix of these product types, the duty exemption is applied proportionally across categories rather than in full for each. Separate allowances apply to e-cigarette products (e.g. up to 140 solid sticks/40 capsules, or limited volumes of e-liquid for open/closed systems).

Amounts above the duty-free thresholds are dutiable/excisable or subject to confiscation. Minimum age for the allowance is 18 (tobacco) per Bea Cukai guidance.

Also covers: tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, vape
