Can you bring tobacco or cigarettes to Hong Kong?

Short answer
Allowed, within limits

  • Tobacco

    allowed, within limits

"A passenger aged 18 or above is allowed to bring into Hong Kong, for his own use, the following quantity of tobacco products exempted from duty: 19 cigarettes; or 1 cigar or 25 grams of cigars; or 25 grams of other manufactured tobacco."

One of the smallest tobacco allowances in the world — a single pack of 20 exceeds it. Passengers who fail to declare excess dutiable goods are liable to prosecution. E-cigarettes and heated tobacco are a separate, stricter matter: see the e-cigarettes entry for Hong Kong.

Also covers: tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, cigar, rolling tobacco
