What you need
  • Passport valid 6+ months with blank visa pages
  • Online COVA visa application form
  • White-background color photo
  • Proof of legal residence in Mexico
  • Itinerary: round-trip flight reservation and hotel booking (or invitation letter)
Good to know
Mexican ordinary-passport holders are not on China's unilateral visa-free list and require an L (tourist) visa; only Mexican diplomatic/official passport holders get visa-free entry (up to 90 days). Since 30 September 2025, applications go through the new online system before in-person passport submission at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Mexico City or Tijuana. Standard processing is about 4 business days.
