Can you bring meat or dairy products to Cyprus?

Short answer
Animal product allowances: allowed, within limits · Meat & dairy: prohibited

  • Animal product allowances

    allowed, within limits

Under EU rules you can bring, from outside the EU: fishery products up to 20 kg (or one fish, if heavier); other animal products such as honey up to 2 kg; and powdered infant milk, infant food or special foods needed for medical reasons up to 2 kg, if they don't need refrigeration before opening and are in unbroken branded packaging.

Conflict between sources, recorded per AGENTS.md §3.8: the EU rule (Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2122, directly applicable) allows fish up to 20 kg and honey up to 2 kg, but Cyprus Customs' restrictions list says meat, fish and cheese need authorisation from the Director of Veterinary Services and honey needs a Veterinary Services licence. The list may refer to commercial imports; if you plan to bring fish or honey, check with Cyprus Veterinary Services first. These rules don't apply to products coming from other EU countries, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino or Switzerland.

Also covers: fish, honey, infant formula, baby milk, infant food

  • Meat & dairy

    prohibited

You cannot bring meat, milk or their products (including cheese) into Cyprus from outside the EU in your luggage. Fish, honey and powdered infant milk follow separate, more lenient EU limits.
