Can you bring meat or dairy products to Montenegro?
Short answer
Prohibited
Meat & dairy
prohibitedYou cannot bring meat, milk or products containing them into Montenegro. Exceptions: powdered baby milk, baby food, and special foods required for medical reasons (sealed, labelled, not needing special storage).
UK FCDO: 'You cannot take meat, milk or products containing them into Montenegro. There are some exceptions such as powdered baby milk, baby food and special foods or pet feed required for medical reasons.' This matches the Ministry of Agriculture rulebook on food travellers bring into Montenegro (Sl. list CG 27/2008, Art. 4–5), which lists meat, meat products, fish, molluscs, milk and dairy products, eggs, animal fat, gelatin and collagen as not allowed without a veterinary certificate, and allows powdered milk/baby food and medically required food; and up to 1 kg of heat-treated (canned) pet food (Art. 8). We read that rulebook only via the FAO legal database copy and could not confirm it is still in force, so the cited source is the current UK page. Items that don't meet the rules are seized and destroyed at the border.
Also covers: meat, dairy, milk, cheese, sausage, ham, salami, jerky, eggs, butter, animal products, fish
