Can you bring a drone to Montenegro?
Short answer
Depends on specifics
Drones
depends on specificsBringing a drone is not restricted by customs rules we found, but flying is regulated. Near Podgorica and Tivat airports, flying inside the restricted areas around each airport needs prior approval from Montenegro's Airspace Management Cell (AMC), applied for at least two working days ahead (by 10:00 UTC) for each flight. Elsewhere inside the Podgorica and Tivat control zones you may fly up to 50 m above ground; 50–120 m needs AMC approval.
Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro Safety Order 2017/001 rev 03 (based on the Law on Air Transport and the Rulebook on safe use of unmanned aircraft systems, Sl. list CG 24/23 and 117/23). The Agency's unmanned-aircraft page lists this as revision 3, published 1 July 2024. Not verified here: Montenegro's general drone registration, operator/pilot training (an A1/A3 theory course is offered by the Agency) and rules outside the two airport control zones under Rulebook 24/23 — check caa.me before flying.
