Bahamas Customs General Traveler's Questions (2 Jan 2026), Q14 'Can I bring food as a traveler?': 'Yes, you are allowed to travel with certain foods. There are restrictions when importing fruits, vegetables and some dairy items ... to prevent the introduction of certain diseases that are contracted from plants and animals. You must declare all food products. Failure to declare food products can result in forfeiture and or fines.' Customs' prohibited list includes 'Meat, provisions, fruits and vegetables, and any articles intended for human food, which are unfit for human consumption.' Customs gives no item-by-item list of which meat or dairy products are allowed. Separate Animal Contagious Diseases orders (meat, poultry and live-bird import prohibitions) exist on laws.bahamas.gov.bs, but we have not reviewed their current scope, so declare every meat, poultry or dairy item and expect it may be refused. The Bahamas Agricultural Health and Food Safety Authority (BAHFSA) site did not respond during research.
