Can you bring alcohol to the Bahamas?

Short answer
Allowed, within limits

  • Alcohol

    allowed, within limits

Each adult may bring duty-free one quart of spirits and one quart of wine. Anything more is dutiable. Customs sets no separate duty-free beer allowance.

Bahamas Customs 'Arriving': 'DUTY FREE ALLOWANCES FOR ALL TRAVELLERS — Alcoholic Beverages not exceeding one quart of spirits and one quart of wine (Adults only)'. The General Traveler's Questions page (2 Jan 2026) repeats this for 'every traveling adult, either visitor or resident', 'in addition to the entitled exemption' (visitors: $100.00 per trip on any dutiable article; above that, duties and taxes apply). A quart is about 0.95 litres. Beer: Customs names no beer allowance; the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism site (cross-check only) says 'All beer imported into the country is dutiable at a rate of $10 per imperial gallon or $18 per case' — so plan to pay duty on beer. Visitors carrying only used personal belongings give an oral declaration; anyone carrying other items completes the C17 Baggage Declaration in the Exempt app, with receipts.

Also covers: alcohol, wine, spirits, liquor, rum, whisky, vodka, gin, beer, duty free alcohol
