Can you bring fresh fruit or produce to Colombia?
Short answer
Allowed, declaration may be required
Fresh produce
allowed, declaration may be requiredPlants, seeds, propagation material and fresh fruit/vegetables need a phytosanitary certificate from the origin country; otherwise they may be seized.
ICA (12 Apr 2017 notice): products must arrive with 'el correspondiente certificado zoosanitario o fitosanitario' from the country of origin; plants of all species, planting/propagation material and fresh fruits and vegetables that don't comply may be seized because they can carry pests. Non-compliant goods are held for re-shipment within 5 days or seized and incinerated. Travellers must declare plants and plant products on the baggage declaration (DIAN lists 'vegetales, animales y productos reglamentados' among cases requiring Form 530). Caveat: 2017 notice; no newer traveller page found.
