  • Meat & dairy

    allowed, within limits

Sealed, commercially labelled cured/cooked meats, boneless aged hams and aged/processed cheeses up to 6 kg each; processed honey and pre-cooked shrimp up to 3 kg. Pork products from Spain and Germany currently banned.

ICA (12 Apr 2017 notice, under Resolución ICA 3865 de 2005): animal-origin food may enter without an import document only in its original sealed packaging labelled with country, establishment, packing and expiry dates: cooked or cured hermetically packed sausages/meat products up to 6 kg; boneless hams up to 6 kg each (Spanish serrano aged >190 days, ibérico >365 days, Italian >400 days, others >180 days); aged, processed or spreadable sealed cheeses up to 6 kg; processed/pasteurised honey up to 3 kg; pre-cooked sealed shrimp up to 3 kg. Excluded: bovine meat products from BSE countries; cured pork from Italy and from countries with African or classical swine fever. Current restriction: ICA Resolución 00031675 (4 Dec 2025) Art. 3 prohibits pork products from Spain carried as accompanied baggage 'independientemente de la cantidad' (unless meeting OMSA Code art. 15.1.2), and Resolución 00034883 (30 Dec 2025) does the same for Germany, both until lifted. Non-compliant goods are held for re-shipment within 5 days or seized and incinerated. Declare animal products on the DIAN baggage declaration. Caveat: the quantity list comes from a 2017 ICA notice; no newer consolidated traveller list was found.

Also covers: meat, dairy, cheese, ham, jamón, sausage, salami, chorizo, honey, pork, embutidos, queso
