Can you bring alcohol to Colombia?

Short answer
Allowed, within limits

  • Alcohol

    allowed, within limits

Counts toward the general USD 2,000 duty-free baggage allowance; no more than 10 units of the same kind (more is treated as a commercial shipment). Excess value pays a 15% single tax.

Decreto 1165 de 2019: Art. 268 – travellers may bring accompanied baggage 'hasta por un valor total de dos mil dólares ... (USD 2.000)' free of the tributo único (minors get a reduced share, Art. 274); Art. 266 – up to 'diez (10) unidades de la misma clase, por viajero' of goods for personal/family use or gifts is not a commercial shipment; Art. 270 – excess pays a 15% ad valorem single tax. No separate litre/carton quota for this product appears in the customs decree: it simply counts toward the general duty-free allowance. Goods above the allowance must be declared on DIAN Form 530; undeclared goods subject to the tax can be seized (Art. 267 par. 2). Separately, gov.uk notes drinking alcohol in public spaces is illegal.
