Can you bring e-cigarettes or vapes to Thailand?

Short answer
Prohibited

  • E-cigarettes

    prohibited

Thailand has banned the import of e-cigarettes, vape pens, pod systems, e-liquids, and related devices/accessories nationwide since a 2014 Ministry of Commerce notification (import/export control), enforced via Customs Act B.E. 2560 (2017) ss. 244 and 246. There is no personal-use or tourist exemption and no way to declare vapes to make importing them legal. Penalties include confiscation and criminal liability (importers: up to 10 years' imprisonment or a fine of 5x the goods' value; possession: up to 5 years or a fine of 4x the value). Enforcement at airports and tourist areas has intensified through 2025–2026. This is a genuine, actively-enforced prosecution risk for travelers who assume vaping is treated like ordinary tobacco.

Also covers: e-cigarette, vape, vape pen, e-liquid, pod system, disposable vape
