Can you bring tobacco or cigarettes to Qatar?
Short answer
Allowed, within limits
Tobacco
allowed, within limitsDuty-free up to 200 cigarettes, as part of the exemption for personal effects and gifts carried by the traveller (total value up to SAR 3,000 or the equivalent in GCC currencies), in personal, non-commercial quantities. Anything that doesn't meet these conditions pays customs duty under the tariff.
The exemption doesn't apply to frequent visitors to customs, traders, or members of transport crews. The guide names only cigarettes, not cigars or loose tobacco. E-cigarettes are banned in Qatar (see e-cigarettes). Some unofficial sites give 400 cigarettes; Qatar Customs' own guide says 200.
