Can you bring cannabis or CBD to Qatar?
Short answer
Prohibited
Cannabis
prohibitedMinistry of Public Health 'Items Prohibited from Entering the State of Qatar' (covering active raw materials or 'any pharmaceutical dosage forms i.e tablets, capsules, syrup, injection, oils, etc.') lists CANNABIS, CANNABIS RESIN and DRONABINOL (synthetic THC). Medical cannabis prescriptions do not make them allowed. The General Authority of Customs' list of goods forbidden by tariff also includes Cannabis sativa, Hashish and hemp seeds. GOV.UK: zero tolerance; possession of drugs 'including cannabis, (even residual amounts)' brings severe penalties, also in transit, and airports scan transit baggage. CBD is not named on any page read: CBD extracted from cannabis falls within 'cannabis … in any pharmaceutical dosage form … oils', but no source addresses hemp-derived CBD by name, so 'cbd' is not in names — treat CBD products as prohibited unless MOPH confirms otherwise.
If you're only changing planes here Applies in transit too
UK government travel advice says to expect a long prison sentence, deportation and heavy fines for possessing, using or smuggling illegal drugs, including cannabis and even residual amounts, "including when transiting through the airport". Qatar's airports scan transit passengers' baggage too.
