Can you bring alcohol to India?
Short answer
Allowed, within limits
Alcohol
allowed, within limitsUp to 2 litres of alcoholic liquor or wine are included within the traveller's general Duty Free Allowance. Quantities beyond 2 litres are dutiable at 150% (whisky) / 110% (beer) or the applicable tariff rate.
The 2-litre alcohol allowance is bundled inside the same overall Duty Free Allowance as the tobacco allowance and general goods value cap (Rs. 50,000 for most tourists), not a separate standalone allowance.
Also covers: alcohol, wine, spirits, liquor, beer
