    Transportation of cash or negotiable instruments in excess of US$10,000 (or its equivalent) into or out of Nigeria by an individual must be declared to the Nigeria Customs Service

    Basis: Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, s. 3(3)-(5) (read directly from the Act's own text). False declaration or failure to declare is an offence: forfeiture of the undeclared funds/instrument and/or imprisonment for at least two years. Declare via the Nigeria Customs Service's E-Currency Declaration Form (cdf.nigeriatradehub.gov.ng).
