Short answerUkrainian citizens need an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) before travelling to Israel. Up to 90 days per visit.

How long you can stay
Up to 90 days per visit.
What you need
  • Passport valid for at least three months from the date of arrival in Israel
  • Approved ETA-IL electronic travel authorisation obtained before departure (fee 25 NIS, non-refundable)
Good to know
Israel's Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) lists Ukraine as visa-exempt: the official ETA-IL eligibility checker, run on 2026-10-10 for a Ukraine regular (national) passport with purpose 'Visit (Tourism)', returned 'Eligible — Based on your answers, you can apply for an ETA-IL' (the checker's country data also flags this nationality NEED_PERMIT=0). PIBA: 'As of January 1st, 2025, travelers to Israel must have a valid visa or ETA-IL approval before starting their journey.' An approved ETA-IL lets you travel to Israel and 'stay for up to 90 days per visit'; it is valid for up to 2 years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first, and a new one (another 25 NIS) is needed with a new passport or a change of name, gender or citizenship. Every traveller including minors needs their own ETA-IL (an adult applies for a minor). Replies usually come within 24–72 hours; PIBA recommends applying at least 72 hours before booking flights or hotels. Apply only on the official site israel-entry.piba.gov.il. An ETA-IL 'does not constitute a guarantee of entry' — a border control officer decides at arrival, and it can be revoked for immigration or security reasons. Not exempt: people with Israeli citizenship (including dual nationals travelling on a foreign passport — they must show proof of Israeli citizenship to the airline) or holders of a valid Israeli visa. Stays beyond 90 days need an extension request under PIBA procedures (no fee or maximum stated on the pages read). Work is not allowed on an ETA-IL.

Is your passport valid long enough?

The rule: Passport valid for at least three months from the date of arrival in Israel

These dates stay in your browser. They aren't saved or sent anywhere. Six months from arrival, or after you leave? How the rules compare
