  • Alcohol: allowed, within limits — "A passenger aged 18 or above is allowed to bring into Hong Kong, for his own use, 1 litre of alcoholic liquor with an alcoholic strength above 30% by volume" duty-free (measured at 20℃).   • Cannabis: prohibited — Cannabis is a dangerous drug under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance (Cap. 134). Hong Kong Customs "reminds members of the public not to bring any cannabis products or products containing CBD into Hong Kong."   • Cash: allowed, must be declared — Anyone arriving at a specified control point with currency and bearer negotiable instruments totalling "more than HKD120,000" must "make a declaration to a Customs officer, using the Red Channel."   • CBD: prohibited — "CBD has been listed as a dangerous drug under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance (DDO)" since 1 February 2023. "Importation of products (including food or drinks) containing CBD into Hong Kong is prohibited unless the relevant provisions in the DDO are complied with," with no exemption based on concentration.   • Controlled medication: depends on specifics — A visitor wishing to bring medicine containing dangerous drugs (as defined under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, Cap. 134) must obtain "prior written approval issued by the Drug Office of the Department of Health", supported by a certification letter from the local doctor giving the doctor's name and medical registration number, clinic details, the patient's name and address, and the drug name, dosage form, strength and total quantity, with the doctor's original signature.   • Fresh produce: depends on specifics — "Under the Plant (Importation and Pest Control) Ordinance, Cap. 207, it is illegal to import plants, plant pests or soil into Hong Kong without a valid licence / authorization issued in advance by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department. However, plants produced in and imported from any place in China outside Hong Kong are exempted from licensing requirement.   • Weapons: depends on specifics — Under the Firearms and Ammunition Ordinance, Cap. 238, "possession of arms and ammunition is subject to a licence for possession or a dealer's licence issued by the Hong Kong Police Force." "Arms" include pistols, air guns and air rifles with muzzle energy greater than 2 joules, electric stun guns, aerosols containing noxious gas, liquid or powder (e.g. dog repellents), harpoons, spear guns, and crossbows with a draw weight of more than 6 kg. Importing arms and ammunition on the Munitions List also requires a licence from the Trade and Industry Department.
