Can you bring a weapon to Georgia?
Short answer
Depends on specifics
Weapons
depends on specificsThe Revenue Service brochure lists "Weapons or explosive" among the goods for which permits and/or certificates must be submitted at customs, and any import that is restricted or needs a permit must be declared.
In practice this means firearms, ammunition and explosives cannot simply be carried in; a permit from the competent Georgian authority is required first. The brochure doesn’t say which authority issues permits for visitors, or how knives, air weapons and self-defence sprays are treated — don’t assume an ordinary tourist can obtain a permit, and check with Georgian authorities before travelling with anything that could be classed as a weapon.
Also covers: weapons, firearms, guns, ammunition, knife, explosives, pepper spray
