    Duty-free personal allowance for travellers 17 years or older: 50 cigarettes, OR 50 grams of cigars/tobacco products, OR a mixture of both totalling 50 grams.

    Must be 17 or older to claim the concession. It is legal to bring in more than the allowance, but the excess must be declared on the arrival card/Traveller Declaration; duty and GST are payable on the first 50 cigarettes/50g are duty-free, and the remainder is dutiable or must be surrendered in the tobacco disposal bins at the airport.
