Can you bring fresh fruit or produce to the Dominican Republic?
Short answer
Allowed, declaration may be required
Fresh produce
allowed, declaration may be requiredPlants, agricultural products and food must be declared on the customs form (E-Ticket); they are subject to Ministry of Agriculture rules and plant-quarantine inspection.
DGA Manual del Viajero: 'Plantas, productos agropecuarios, alimentos y medicinas, sujetas a regulaciones por el Ministerio de Agricultura o el Ministerio de Salud Pública' are listed under items that DO need a customs declaration; FAQ 16 says foods must be declared on the form. The Ministry of Agriculture runs plant-quarantine inspection at airports, but we found no official passenger list of banned fruits/vegetables. Declare and expect possible confiscation.
