Can you bring fresh fruit or produce to Chile?
Short answer
Allowed, declaration may be required
Fresh produce
allowed, declaration may be requiredAll plant products — fresh, dried, dehydrated, frozen or processed — must be declared on the joint Aduana–SAG sworn declaration; an SAG inspector decides whether each item may enter.
SAG 'Ingreso a Chile': declare every plant or animal product regardless of quantity; an SAG inspector decides admissibility. The joint Aduana–SAG form lists plant products to declare: 'Frutos y hortalizas (frescas, secas, deshidratadas, congeladas y agroindustrializadas)', live plants and plant parts, all grains and seeds (including for eating), legumes, spices/herbs/seasonings, flowers, soil or anything containing soil, plant-origin crafts, wood, conifer cones, biological material (live insects, spores), other packed or unpacked plant products, pesticides and fertilisers. False declaration is punishable by a fine. Declaring does not guarantee entry; non-compliant products are not allowed in.
Also covers: fruit, vegetables, fresh produce, seeds, plants, flowers, nuts, spices, herbs, grains, beans, soil, wood, dried fruit
