Can you bring e-cigarettes or vapes to Australia?
Short answer
Allowed, within limits
E-cigarettes
allowed, within limitsTraveller's exemption for vapes entering by ship or aircraft, for the traveller's own use (or someone they're caring for who is travelling with them): maximum 2 vapes, 20 vape accessories (cartridges/capsules/pods), and 200 mL of vape substance in liquid form
Vapes cannot otherwise be purchased from overseas retailers or websites and mailed/couriered into Australia for personal use, even with a prescription — that route is prohibited outright. Vapes containing controlled drugs (e.g. cannabis) are not covered by these quantity limits and are treated as prohibited drugs instead. Significant penalties apply for unlawfully importing vaping goods.
