Can you bring medication to Armenia?

At a glance

  • Controlled medication — depends on specifics

No licence needed, but only medicines registered in Armenia, with medical documents translated into Armenian and notarised. Declare them.

  • Prescription medication — allowed, within limits

Up to 10 types of medicine, 3 packs each, for personal use. More if a prescription or doctor's document justifies it.

  • Controlled medication

    depends on specifics

Narcotic and psychotropic medicines can be brought in without a licence if you show medical documents confirming the medical need, with the product name and quantity. The documents, or certified Armenian translations with notarisation, must be given to customs. Only narcotic and psychotropic medicines registered in Armenia may be imported. Fill in a customs declaration stating the quantity prescribed and that it was legally obtained.

Failing to declare medicine containing narcotic or psychotropic substances can lead to administrative or criminal penalties under Armenian law.

    Doctor's letter checklist

Only what Armenia's rule asks the letter or prescription to include. Tick each one off with your doctor.
